《The Merchants of Venice》 returns to audiences two years after its premiere. This work reinterprets Shakespeare's famous comedy 〈The Merchant of Venice〉 as a modern changgeuk, blending Western classics with Korean pansori to evoke universal empathy, and portraying the hope created through the communal solidarity and the power of love. Directed by Lee Sung-youl, with a script by Kim Eun-seong, pansori composition by Han Seung-seok, and composed by Won Il, this grand changgeuk is a collaboration of top talents in each field alongside the National Changgeuk Company of Korea, featuring the exhilarating sound and refreshing humor delivered by the cast with the stunning stage aesthetics.
